Well, this is based on data obtained from 9to5google via APK Insight, as quoted Tuesday (13/6/2023). Here, they decompile the latest versions of the apps that Google has uploaded to the Play Store.
From there, you can see various lines of code, as a hint about possible features that will come, even though it's not certain that it will be released to users.
As is known, the User Interface (UI) of the Google Meet application on mobile devices is quite annoying if users make video calls while walking. Users also have to be more aware of their surroundings when making calls with the Google Meet application on mobile devices.
Therefore, the parent Google.com is known to be working on an "On-the-Go" mode for Meet video calls. From the feature icon and its introductory text, this feature is designed for meetings while the user is walking.
When On-the-Go mode is on, Google Meet will turn off the camera in the call, as well as stop video streaming to other participants.
Users will also get a new layout with only a few large, easier-to-press buttons for Mute, Audio (to switch between Bluetooth, speaker, etc.), and raise hand.
When they are not moving or walking, users can tap "Turn off On-the-Go" to switch back to the standard Google Meet view and see other participants.
