How to Enable Find My iPhone

However, if the user has not set up Find My Phone, follow these steps to enable Find My Phone:

- ↪️ Tap Apple ID at the top of the screen
- ↪️ Select Find My from the list of options
- ↪️ Tap Find My iPhone (or Find My iPad).
- ↪️ Enable the toggle on Find My iPhone
- ↪️ Enable Send Last Location to automatically send the device's location to Apple, when the battery is low.
How to Activate Lost Mode
There are two ways to activate Lost Mode, first using the Find My application on another Apple device or via iCloud.com in a web browser.
Using the Find My app
- ↪️ Open the Find My app on another Apple device such as an iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- ↪️ Go to the Devices tab at the bottom of the screen
- ↪️ Find the location and select the lost or stolen device from the list
- ↪️ Drag up or click the info button to find additional options
- ↪️ Tap Activate under "Mark as Lost."
- ↪️ Follow the on-screen prompts to set a passcode (if required), to enter the contact's phone number and customize the message that will be displayed on the lock screen of the missing device.
- ↪️ Tap Enable Lost Mode for the lost device.
Using iCloud.com
- ↪️ Visit icloud.com in a web browser on a computer or other device
- ↪️ Sign in with your Apple ID and password
- ↪️ Click the Find iPhone icon
- ↪️ Click All Devices or all devices at the very top of the screen and select the lost or stolen device in the list
- ↪️ Click Lost Mode and follow the on-screen instructions to activate the passcode. Enter a contact's phone number and set the message that will appear on the lost device's lock screen.
What Happens When Users Activate Lost Mode
- ↪️ Messages and contact phone numbers that have been set will appear on the lockscreen of the lost device screen.
- ↪️ The location of the device will be tracked and the user will receive a notification, when the location information is updated.
- ↪️ Apple Pay and other services connected to the device will be suspended for security reasons.
- ↪️ The device will be locked with Activation Lock to prevent other people from deleting or activating without entering their Apple ID and password.
